Sweet Hope is 10 years old!

Can it be?  Sweet Hope is turning 10!  In 2006 Derek and Lisa Lindholm were sitting at the dinner table when Lisa proposed the idea of making truffles as a way to raise money to help families adopting children.  They had only returned from completing their own adoption trip no more than a month earlier.  Little did they know the journey they would embark upon. The faces of Khor

For the past six years Sweet Hope has worked to help children in various orphanages in the Khabarovsk Territory of Russia.  We have done this from afar.  All of our communication has been through a translator.  Facilities were identified, we sent representatives and information was relayed.  This arrangement has served us well.  However, there needed to be more.  Nothing quite compares to face to face interaction.  Today I had the privilege to meet the people who are directly effected by the funds Sweet Hope raises and sends. Welcome to Sweet Hope

Sweet Hope started as a personal fundraiser in February 2006. Our goal was to raise money to adopt our son from Russia. We made and sold chocolate truffles for Valentine’s Day. When we started our adoption journey, we did not have the money to finish. Though, somehow, throughout our adoption money was always available when we needed it. It came from savings, loans, grants, gifts and even fund-raisers.
