About

We are Derek & Lisa Lindholm. In October, 2004, we embarked on the adventure of a lifetime. We decided to expand our family through international adoption. Almost two years later a judge in Khabarovsk, Russia pronounced us parents of a 22 month old boy, Oleg.
Our journey to Oleg did not come without its struggles. Additional paperwork and travel continually increased our costs and we quickly eclipsed our original budget. We looked to fundraisers to help fill in the financial gaps.
Spring, 2006, we made and sold boxes of chocolate truffles to friends, family and those we met over the internet. People loved the candy so much they begged us to make them again. By the time we were ready to open the chocolate factory we no longer needed money to fund our own adoption. Thus Sweet Hope was born.

If you would like to become a Sweet Hope volunteer there are ways to help.
1) Become a fan on Facebook
2) Volunteer to help make truffles or caramels. If you live in the Puget Sound area and are interested in helping the first three weeks in December please contact us at elle@lifeofelle.com. We always have room in the kitchen for extra help.
3) Become a Sweet Hope ‘Sales Person.’ The first week in November we will be sending samples of our Dark Chocolate truffles and small cards for volunteer sales people to give away. If you would like to promote Sweet Hope let us know. Sales people pay $10 to offset the cost of making the samples and shipping. If you would like to help please email us at elle@lifeofelle.com
